Synthesis of benzo[ <i>b</i> ]phosphole‐based alkynylgold(I) complexes with resistive memory properties modulated by donor–acceptor chromophores

A class of benzo[b]phosphole-based alkynylgold(I) complexes has been synthesized and characterized. These share a similar benzo[b]phosphole ligand, in which the phosphole moiety is substituted with various π-conjugated units different donor strengths, namely phenoxazinylphenyl, tris(di-tert-butylcarbazolyl)phenyl 2,4-dimethylphenyl moieties. phosphole-containing gold(I) are found to be strongly luminescent toluene tunable emission maxima possess solvatochromic behaviors, suggesting an metal-perturbed intraligand charge transfer origin. Cyclic voltammetry studies reveal that presence metal center perturbs electronic properties resultant complexes, can further fine-tuned by auxiliary ligand on center. In resistive memory studies, devices based these exhibit satisfactory binary demonstrating low threshold voltages narrow distributions, high durability misreading rates. Such performances believed originated from field-induced electron-accepting phosphole-gold(I) unit plays crucial role stabilizing state led observed switching behavior.
